We’ve undoubtedly experienced moments when our eyelids droop from sheer exhaustion.

Certain kids will employ various tactics to remain awake, driven by the desire not to miss out on any ongoing activities. The adorable toddler in the viral video displayed below is a prime example. He’s putting up a valiant struggle against sleep, his efforts almost leaving him incapacitated. Dressed in a cozy cap with ear flaps, nestled in his car seat, his eyes are unfocused, fixed on some distant point as he battles against his overwhelming fatigue.

I’ve been there before!

“Hey buddy, are you tired?” his father inquires after noticing the child’s struggle to stay awake.

The little voice responds, “Yeah.” The boy’s demeanor remains unchanged – a lifeless, exhausted stare.

“Having trouble keeping your eyes open?”

“Yes.”

“You’ve been drifting off a bit,” the dad observes.

Once more, the child remains in his dazed state, responding with a monotonous “Yes.”

And then, the father utters the words that the child seems to have been eagerly anticipating. “It’s alright, buddy. If you feel like sleeping… go on, you can go to sleep.”
