Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn, congratulations on your 40th wedding anniversary!

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are one of Hollywood’s most prominent and long-lasting couples.

On Valentine’s Day, the Hollywood couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary and are still as dedicated to one another as they were when they first met.

Despite the numerous temptations, both appear to have avoided the dangers that come with being in the public glare. How many celebrities marry, have children, and appear to be living happily ever after, only to divorce a few years later?

In a nutshell, sure. Yes, practically everywhere. But not Kurt and Goldie. In fact, they’ve set the standard for happy marriages in Hollywood and established a wonderful family over the years.

So, what is their secret to success? According to the couple, it has a lot to do with marriage… or, more specifically, the lack thereof.

Few Hollywood couples can rival Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in terms of worldwide adoration and devotion.

Celebrities nowadays seem to shift partners like old shoes, yet one couple has been together for almost 40 years and is acclaimed for both their individual on-screen accomplishments and their charming, real love for one another.00:00

Their everlasting devotion to one another is what distinguishes Kurt and Goldie’s romance from the rest. They haven’t exploited their relationship to raise their public profile, nor have they engaged in any scandals or PR stunts to seize control of the media machine.

Instead, their relationship harkens back to a simpler time, a model of mutual respect and devotion that serves as a reminder of what true love entails.

This past weekend marked the 40th anniversary of Goldie and Kurt’s marriage. During that time, they’ve both become Hollywood celebrities while also maintaining a strong marriage and devoted parenting style at home.

Their devotion to one another is admirable, and the progression of their love through time is fascinating.

Goldie and Kurt initially met while filming The Only and Only, Genuine Original Family Band in 1966. Hawn recalled the experience with BBC Radio 4 in an interview. “I was 21 and he was 16,” Hawn stated, implying a big age difference between them.

He was endearing to me, but he was clearly too young. We met each other again many years later, and I was reminded of how much I had liked our initial encounter. We both vowed never to date another actor, but that promise was shortly broken.

They were both single and had no intention of dating any time soon. And, despite appearing to have it all together, Goldie Hawn was struggling behind the scenes. Rumor has it that she fought with depression in private and never spoke about it publicly.

On the British chat show Good Morning Britain, Hawn shared her history of mental health concerns.

“When I was a kid, I fell into a deep depression,” she explained. “At 21, I was on the up and up.” I know it looks bad, but it’s really, extremely tough, and I didn’t want that.

Goldie Hawn and actor Gus Trikonis separated four years after their marriage in 1969. She ultimately got a divorce in June 1976, and just a few weeks later she married Bill Hudson in a marriage that would last for the next six years.

Russell and Hawn met paths again when filming Swing Shift in 1983. Russell’s attempt to woo Hawn this time began with the pick-up line, “Man, you’ve got a great figure.”

Russell stated in a 2017 interview with Conan O’Brien, “I was severely hungover and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her those many years before.”

I was completely unprepared for her incredible physique. As a result, “Man, you’ve got a great figure” was the first thing that sprang to mind. It was unusual and risky, but she just said, “Why, thank you.”

Goldie and Bill Hudson already had two young children. Her son, Oliver, was born on September 7, 1976, and her daughter, Kate, was born on April 19, 1979.

Kurt and Goldie have been together for 40 years and still care deeply for one another. What’s the most intriguing aspect of their friendship? They’ve never considered acquiring a marriage license.

According to Russell, they don’t expect anything exceptional to happen as a result of their marriage license. “Forty years just isn’t long enough to say, ‘Well, I guess.'”

“Our children got married,” Hawn explained. Both Oliver and Wyatt are happy in their marriages. Katie had previously been married, but it didn’t work out; now she’s with the most incredible human being imaginable, and I’m not sure if she’ll ever marry again.

We’ve all been married before, and we all know that marriage isn’t always a good thing. The problem isn’t with the marriage. It’s about the people you’re with, the bond you’ve formed, and your will to keep it that way. You can have it if you want it, which is tremendous.

You have to make sacrifices, but it’s definitely worth it to sleep with someone’s toes tickling yours. Kurt and Goldie, in my opinion, are the ultimate couple.
