A mother noticed something weird while out to dinner with her daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law. Despite the fact that they had been dating for a while, she suddenly acquired a nagging suspicion that she couldn’t shake.

It all started with a story her son-in-law told her over dinner.

Heidi and Ed Savitt married in the summer of 2017 after dating for six years. In 2011, while studying at Newcastle University in London, the two fell in love and have been together ever since.

It had already been four years since the couple went out to dinner with their mothers, Kay and Fiona. The mother felt odd by the end. Kay told Heidi stories from her childhood, including the “vacation lover” she had when she was six years old while sailing in Turkey.

Her “lover,” Ed, had been staying with her for two weeks.

Kay was perusing a box of old pictures from 1997 two weeks later. She was astonished when she discovered many images from their sailing excursion in Turkey. Kay called her daughter right away, who was equally as shocked by what her mother had discovered.

Ed Savitt was really Heidi’s “vacation boyfriend,” not Heidi. The fact that the pair had already met many years prior was unknown to both families. A tiny world indeed!
