Jean Willard, 89 at the time, and her husband Walter Willard, 91 at the time, had a meaningful reunion in May 2020, erupting into an intense kissing frenzy.
Many people have been influenced by their narrative to believe in true love. Jean and Walter had been married for 70 years and had been inseparable throughout their marriage. They were driven apart due to health concerns when the coronavirus ravaged the planet in 2020. Jean and Walter were always in good health, according to their daughters, Wanda Glenn and Wendy Gillard, despite being 89 and 91 at the time.
This was altered in 2019 after the former fell and fractured her pelvis. Unfortunately, this experience was followed by dementia symptoms, causing their children to admit her to the Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center in Troy, New York. They chose the care home since it was close to their home, making it convenient for Walter to visit his wife. Unfortunately, when the coronavirus epidemic struck in 2020, their fortunes changed.
Due to the lockdown constraints, Walter was unable to keep up with the visits. After the terrible revelation that he could no longer visit his wife, the elderly man suffered a significant health scare. His kids reported that following a fall, he had a brain bleed, necessitating surgery and rehabilitation. After observing how he suffered without his wife, they decided to relocate their father to the same institution as their mother.
Notably, the care home’s safety restrictions prevented Walter from moving in during the peak of the pandemic. Wendy, the couple’s daughter, persuaded the director to reconsider.
