A couple who were having trouble conceiving their third child were surprised when the wife became pregnant with five infants instead of three.
Rachelle Wilkinson and her husband, Jayson, already had two children, but they had no idea that adding a third would break a US record.
When questioned by CBS, the couple indicated that they were having difficulty becoming pregnant. They then decided on fertility treatments, which included egg-stimulating surgery. Multiple births are typical in these situations, but being pregnant with quints is extremely rare.

When questioned by CBS, the couple indicated that they were having difficulty becoming pregnant. They then decided on fertility treatments, which included egg-stimulating surgery. Multiple births are typical in these situations, but being pregnant with quints is extremely rare.
They left the hospital in a stupor, unsure how they would deal with such a huge discovery, but they did know that they would give all five of their infants a chance.
Rachelle mentioned during her CBS interview that her pregnancy was not easy. Doctors even advised the mother to consider lowering the number of infants she was carrying so that the ones that survived would have a greater chance of survival. But this was a difficult decision for her to make. At the end of the day, the couple opted to keep all of the babies and risk everything. Rachelle was reported to have said:
How do you make your decision? Which ones would I have selected to drop? I don’t believe I could have done it. When you look at the ultrasound monitor, you can see that they all have fingers and toes and all of their little body parts, even at 10 weeks.
Raychelle’s 5’2″ frame did not make bearing five children any easier. “It was quite uncomfortable,” she claimed, adding that it became difficult to bend, sit, or do much else toward the end.
The pregnant mother, on the other hand, made it to 34 weeks before the babies, three boys and two girls, arrived. The neonates weighed a total of 21 pounds 7.2 ounces and were in good health, which is not often the case with quintuplets.
Since the birth of the babies in 2007, the family has chronicled their special moments on their YouTube page, Wilkinsonquints where they now have over 7000 subscribers. For the tenth anniversary of the birth and of course, the babies’ tenth birthday, they shared a heartwarming video of how far they have come and what raising all seven kids has been like.
