They are pleased that they are now a family of seven. After having four natural-born children and one adopted kid, they thought their family was complete. But God had other plans!
Josh got a call about a pregnant mother who couldn’t keep the baby. After praying about it, he and Allison felt that God had burdened them to take on this small life and adopt the infant. While going to the hospital, Josh received another call. They were identical twins! Allison was overjoyed! A few minutes later, another call came in. It was not thought that the second child would survive.
«In a matter of minutes, we went from overwhelmed with happiness to overwhelmed with grief.» «The thought of that precious little girl dying before we even met her was almost too much for us,» Allison recounts. The baby girl, according to the experts, had serious brain damage and lacked everything that constituted a human a human. This had no effect on Josh and Allison. They understood that God was in charge and that this lovely girl required love and a home for as long as God permitted her to survive!
We don’t know how long Ava will be with her new family, but we know she is loved and safe in the hands of God! For more wonderful adoption stories, check out the Baldwin Family and how God burdened them to adopt seven children after becoming empty nesters!
