Simon Cowell questions Lucie Jones’ rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” during her audition on The X Factor. Oh, how wrong he was!

Lucie Jones, 18, hails from a quaint village in Wales, where the population is just a few hundred strong.

“I have a strong desire to explore beyond my hometown and make a name for myself on a larger platform,” Lucie expresses.

Lucie’s mother expressed her belief that this opportunity could be the stepping stone for Lucie to pursue her dreams in the entertainment industry. 

As Lucie starts to sing ‘I Will Always Love You,’ there’s a hint of nervousness in her stage presence. However, her confidence blossoms and her voice becomes more powerful. Simon can’t help but smile as he watches her flourish on stage.

After her audition, the X Factor judges took the time to offer Lucie Jones some words of encouragement.

“Some people were born to sing,” Loui tells Lucie Jones on The X Factor. “You were meant to sing. You’ve got it all covered, and I have a feeling that today marks the beginning of a major shift for you.”

This talented young lady is overwhelmed by the amount of praise she is receiving! After all of the X Factor judges say “yes,” Lucie Jones runs off the stage to hug her parents as they celebrate her win.
