Christina Applegate Left in Tears After Standing Ovation at the Emmys – And Everyone’s Saying the Same Thing.

Christina Applegate was overwhelmed with emotion as she received a standing ovation during last night’s 75th annual Emmy Awards.

The actress has been open about her fight with multiple sclerosis, garnering support from fans worldwide. Despite her health challenges, Applegate remains resilient.

On Monday, January 15, the 52-year-old made a memorable appearance on stage at the Emmys, using a cane to present two awards. The audience celebrated her presence.

Applegate, recognized for her performances in movies like Anchorman and TV shows like Dead to Me, received assistance from actor Anthony Anderson as she made her way across the stage.

As the actress approached the podium, the audience at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles stood up in unison to show their support.

It was a touching moment that truly resonated with Applegate.

“Thank you very much! Oh my goodness!” she said.

“You’re totally shaming me and my disability by standing up.”

She mentioned, «You might recognize me as Kelly Bundy from Married with Children. And you don’t have to applaud every time I do something.”

At the end of her speech, the actress from Bad Moms shared with the audience, «I’m going to cry more than I’ve been crying.»

It’s no surprise that Christina’s reception and the overall admiration for her resilience resonated positively with fans watching from home.

«The standing ovation for Christina Applegate has me in tears already,» one fan commented.

«I absolutely love Christina Applegate,» another person expressed. She is an incredible comedic talent and stunningly beautiful (always has been!). Her zings here are fire.”

«Wow, that was such a touching moment for Christina Applegate,» a third person commented.

“Waking up at 4:30am, stumbled upon the clip of the massive ovation for Christina Applegate. One person confessed, «And now I’ll have to cry myself back to sleep.»

In 2021, Applegate shared her MS diagnosis and acknowledged that due to the illness, she may no longer be able to continue acting on camera.

“With the disease of MS, it’s never a good day,” she told Vanity Fair. “Going down the stairs, carrying things—you can’t do that anymore. It sucks.”

She added, «I most likely won’t be working on-camera again. I can’t even fathom going to set at this moment. This disease is considered to be progressive. I don’t know if I’m going to get worse. Doing voiceover work is essential for me to provide for my family and keep my mind active.”
