After undergoing a vasectomy, it is unlikely that a man and his partner will be able to conceive a child. One woman shared online that she successfully conceived a baby despite her husband’s past medical procedure.
Jenny Doman recently took to social media to share her personal story, revealing that she became pregnant despite her partner having undergone a birth control procedure.
She said she hadn’t had her «tubes tied» before when asked if she had, but her husband «did have a little snip snip» 16 years ago.
Doman and her family affectionately referred to her child as «the miracle baby.»
Videos that Doman posted on her Instagram account show that she had a baby boy in 2021. Unfortunately, the baby’s stats «started to drop» just before they were to be sent home from the hospital. The baby had to stay in the NICU because of his condition.
In a video, the mother said, «He was early and is so tiny, he did so good while they were running tests.»
After a few days, she provided an update, sharing that the baby was still in the NICU, had undergone an echo, x-rays, and was receiving oxygen.
Doman’s baby has been discharged from the hospital and is now at home, as seen in a video shared a month later, dressed as Baby Yoda.
Healthline states that while it is very uncommon, it is still possible to conceive a woman after a man has a vasectomy. According to a survey conducted in 2004, the data showed that only one pregnancy occurred in every 1,000 vasectomies, highlighting the high effectiveness of the birth control procedure at 99.9%.
Shortly after welcoming her newborn in 2021, Doman posted a new video in August 2022 featuring her holding the baby who had previously been in the NICU.
Yet, in the video, the woman seemed to be expecting another child.
In the video, she mentioned her struggles with sleep while taking care of a 9-month-old and being pregnant.
By June 2023, Doman welcomed her second child, a baby girl. She posted a series of photos capturing her family’s visit to church to have their youngest child blessed.
Yesterday was a special day as we were able to bless baby June. The caption expressed gratitude for everyone who came and shared the beautiful day.
Doman was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and positive comments she received from fellow online users as she shared her journey.
