Despite the many talented contestants on the Australian version of The Voice in recent seasons, some have been eliminated midway because of tough competition. Levi X, a fifteen-year-old saxophonist and vocalist from Brisbane, was one of these contestants in the twelfth season. He didn’t make it past the Battles stage, but his blind audition, which has been watched by over a million people, was truly unforgettable.
For his audition, Levi performed a heartfelt version of “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes, showing off his impressive vocal and saxophone skills. The moment he started, all four judges were hooked. Rita Ora couldn’t help but dance in her seat, clearly loving Levi’s performance.
Rita was the first to hit her button, turning to see Levi, and she was stunned by how young he was. Jason Derulo quickly followed, hoping to get Levi on his team. In the end, he chose to join Rita’s team, partly because of Rita’s obvious enthusiasm for his style.
