Liam used to run through the park with his messy brown hair flying in the wind. At just 9 years old, he was full of life—until everything changed in a second.
A neighbor’s dog, unchained and agitated, lunged at him without warning. It tore into his scalp, leaving deep wounds and pulling out clumps of his hair.
The physical scars healed slowly. But the emotional ones never did.
Now, Liam won’t leave the house without a cap. He even sleeps in it. “I don’t want anyone to see,” he whispers.
He won’t go to birthday parties. He won’t go swimming. Mirrors terrify him.
“He used to laugh all the time,” his mom says. “Now he asks if people are staring.”
Doctors say his hair might grow back—but it could take years.
A fundraiser was started for a special hair treatment and therapy. Strangers have sent letters, hats, and even video messages to lift his spirit.

What Liam doesn’t know yet is that people aren’t looking at him with pity—they’re looking at him with pride.
Because behind that cap is a boy who survived something most grown-ups couldn’t.
