Everyone says: “Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I believed it.
So I turned my photography hobby into a business. I booked weddings, portraits, and events. Within six months, I was fully booked. And fully burned out.
Suddenly, photography wasn’t fun. Every click of the camera felt like pressure. Creativity turned into deadlines. Art became invoices.
Worse, when I wanted to take a break, people said: “But this is your dream!”
No, it was a passion. It became a job. And that’s okay—but I wish someone had told me it changes everything.
Now I keep business and joy separate. I still shoot—but not for everyone.
Not every passion should be monetized. Sometimes it should just stay yours.
