While working remotely, Karen clicked the wrong Zoom link—expecting a team meeting. Instead, she found herself in a family gathering with panicked voices and a man on screen turning blue.

“I almost left, but something told me to stay,” Karen said.

Realizing it was a choking emergency, and being trained in first aid, she shouted instructions for the Heimlich. A teenager in the room followed her guidance—and saved his grandfather’s life.

They later found out she was a complete stranger.

“I thought it was a mistake,” Karen said, “but maybe I was exactly where I needed to be.”
