Phoebe Cates appeared in a number of films, including Gremlins and Drop Dead Fred, but she is best remembered for her famous, topless pool scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High in 1982.

The ex-actor, on the other hand, left Hollywood more than 20 years ago and now works 9 to 5 doing something she enjoys.

Phoebe Belle Cates was born in New York City on July 16, 1963. When she was younger, she attended private schools and studied dancing at Julliard.

Because her uncle was the President of the Director’s Guild and her father, Joe Cates, was a producer-director, Phoebe was born with acting in her blood. Valerie, her sister, also worked on stage, and her brother was a former actor.
