Tennessee has been battling esophageal cancer since last year. Recently, while resting at home, Ellis received a huge surprise when 400 students and faculty from the school showed up to sing to him. They sang hymns and religious songs that he adores!

Ellis is seen looking out his window in the video clip below, amazed and moved by the outpouring of support from his students.
Shannon Lee Seibert, a CPA mother, described how the touching event occurred. She shared the letter sent to parents by the school’s principal on Facebook. It read:
“I wanted to update you on this morning’s schedule change and chapel for the high school, as it was a little unconventional, but sometimes that’s just how the Holy Spirit calls us to be.”
“Three separate and unrelated people approached me last night and this morning, saying that while praying, they had a vision of high school students and faculty singing praises on the front lawn of the home of Ben Ellis, our Latin teacher who is battling cancer and who enjoys a good hymn sing.” So we loaded the buses and cars and drove away.

“It was a powerful and moving outpouring of love from our students to a man who loves us well.”
“When we got back to campus, we went straight to chapel and prayed and praised God.” It was both broken and lovely.”
Powerful, indeed! Below is the viral video of the students singing a prayer hymn to their beloved teacher.
