Parenting is not an easy task. You must create space in your heart and home for a child who is scared, shy, and, at times, psychologically shattered. You have a duty to do all in your power to show these youngsters that there are other people who want to love and care for them.

We will have to release them from our care at some point. It’s never easy, but doing it out of love and compassion is a really noble act.

Sara Cozad and Stuart Shank took in Dayshawn and his younger brother Michael as foster kids.

After a few years of living together as a family, the couple concluded that their foster parenting endeavor had been successful. They have reached a point where they can no longer bear the thought of losing these two beautiful youngsters.

They chose to adopt Dayshawn, who was 13 at the time, and also his younger brother, Michael, who was 6.

CBS News aired a quick video feature with Sara, Stuart, and the kids.

When the video went viral, the judge asked the small boy whether he believed they should go forward with the adoption. He smiled and nodded happily.

Furthermore, he claimed that his foster family loved him and his brother just as much as they did.

The judge was moved by what he said and said it was a good argument.

Dayshawn went on to say how much he loved Sara and Stuart and how thankful he was to have been raised by foster parents.

The judge’s grin was clearly brightened by the boy’s enjoyment.

The second question she presented to Dayshawn and Michael was whether they were willing to commit to the adoption process.
