The 21-year-old Irish boy amazed the judges with his beautiful voice

Brenden Murray, 21, of Galway, Ireland, competed on “X Factor.” It began with a clumsy version of “We Don’t Have to Take Our Clothes Off.” However, his music choices did not please the judges.

Then Simon gave Brenden a second opportunity. He recommended that he come back later and perform Kate Bush’s “This Woman’s Work.” Brenden eagerly accepted the opportunity for a second try and set out to master the song in the short hours he had.

Brenden’s second audition, on the other hand, was almost as bad. “I’ve just been trying to memorize this song for the last several hours,” he remarked anxiously as he reached the stage. The music started playing, and Brenden tried to sing the song, which started in an almost impossible-to-sing falsetto. His nerves are visible, and they influence his pitch.

Brenden was visibly suffering and decided to call it quits shortly after the audition started. He took a deep breath and apologized to the judges. “Consider the wording,” Simon properly warned. Make sure you strike the major note at the right moment.”

Brenden pauses the music and resumes singing, determined to give it another attempt. His voice is clearer this time, but he is definitely struggling. He comes to a standstill once again in the same spot. He couldn’t remember the words at this time.

Simon believed in Brenden. “Let him read the lyrics,” he said, throwing him a rare lifeline. Brenden had the lyrics written on a slip of paper in his back pocket. He pulled it out excitedly and cued the music for the third time.

Brenden soared past the location where he had earlier halted, his voice becoming louder. As the audience begins to applaud, he gains confidence. As the song came to a close, Brenden really got into it and gave a fantastic second half of a performance. He crumpled up the piece of paper with the words and flung them to the side as he sang his heart out.
