McDonald’s is investigating after a worker at a Virginia location allegedly did not serve a police officer. Cathy Naff ac.cused a McDonald’s staff member of refusing to serve her husband, Scott Naff, who had just concluded a 13-hour shift.
Here is what she wrote on her social account:
My husband has just returned home after a 13-hour shift and said something that absolutely shocked me.
Around 7:00 p.m. tonight, he took a little break and proceeded to the McDonald’s drive-through on Parham Road and Route 1. He was dressed in his police gear and driving his police truck. He paid for his meal and proceeded to the next window.
The young guy staffing the window stared at him and backed away, yapping something to my husband. Because the window was shut, my husband couldn’t hear him. Eventually, the man approached the window and eased it open.
My husband informed him that he couldn’t hear him, and the man replied, “I ain’t serving no cops,” before closing the window. The man then continued to inform everyone at McDonald’s that he would not be serving the cops. The staff gazed at my husband, unsure of what to do. After all, he had paid for his dinner, but no one wanted to hand it to him.
Eventually, one of them delivered it to him without saying anything. As my husband was driving around the building, a guy who was in McDonalds at the time approached his vehicle and said he had never seen anything like that.

He said that the man informed the management that she may dismiss him but that he would not “service the cops.” The manager did nothing at all to assist and was not even the one who gave him his dinner.
It’s astonishing that individuals can behave this way, but it’s even more incredible that the management permitted him to continue his pranks. I’m sure we’ll never return to this McDonald’s! This has really opened my eyes to what the individuals who defend us go through on a regular basis. Please pray for the men and women who serve and defend us every day, putting their lives on the line for us.
The post rapidly went viral on social media, forcing McDonald’s to respond with a statement.
According to Blue Lives Matter, the fast food business stated in a statement, “At our locations, we are devoted to serving all of our customers, especially the police officers who protect and defend our communities.” “We are conducting a thorough investigation and will take the necessary measures.”

Cathy Naff subsequently posted a follow-up on the incident:
My spouse quickly sent a formal complaint to corporate. He got a normal email thanking him for his concern late last night. We phoned the franchise owner yesterday, and he stated he would check into it.
They phoned us back five hours later and claimed they had let the young guy leave, although the manager claimed she had no knowledge of this. When we informed him about the manager, he indicated he would check into it more.
My spouse is one of the most composed, compassionate, and level-headed men I know. This should never have happened to him or anybody else. Others have communicated with us during this journey that they experienced the same conduct at the same place.
It is outrageous that McDonald’s is doubting the veracity of this tale. Thank you for all of your help…not only for my husband, but for all law enforcement personnel! The basic issue is that we should not treat anybody, uniform or not, in the way that this McDonald’s has. Everyone should be treated with dignity!
