A man risked his life to rescue five kids. Nicholas Bostic, a 25-year-old pizza delivery worker from Indiana, spotted blazing flames pouring from a home while passing by at about midnight. He rushed into the home and started waking up the four children who were sleeping upstairs.

He then assisted them in getting out, only to discover that a 6-year-old kid remained inside. According to a press statement from the Lafayette Police Department, he raced back to his upper bedroom.

When he couldn’t locate anybody after searching for a time, he started hunting for an escape. According to TODAY, he then heard screaming coming from below.

Bostic was subsequently brought to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment before being discharged a few days later. «And we’re heading home!» said his girlfriend, Kara Lewis, who shared a picture of Bostic beaming on Facebook.

«The brave acts of Nicholas Bostic saved lives.» His selflessness throughout this situation is inspirational, and he has astonished many with his bravery, persistence, and unwavering composure in the face of such dire danger.

The Lafayette Police Department and the Honorable Mayor Tony Roswarski will be forever thankful for Nicholas’ involvement and would want to officially acknowledge him for his efforts,» said the LPD in a statement.

The Lafayette Police Department intends to commemorate Bostic for his bravery on August 2 during the Lafayette Aviators’ National Night Out. A GoFundMe campaign and a Facebook fundraiser have been established to assist with covering Bostic’s medical expenses.
