Sarah and Chris St. James were overjoyed to learn that Sarah was expecting her second child. And, like any parents, they were relieved when their daughter was delivered without difficulties.
But it wasn’t until they got her home that they realized something was amiss. Sloan was born healthy, but her parents noticed she was growing chubby, particularly around the tummy, when she was two months old.
She ate regularly and matured normally. Sarah and Chris got more scared and alarmed as her tummy grew larger and larger. Rather than seeing a normal physician, Sarah and Chris brought Sloan to the hospital for a typical four-month-old checkup.
Sadly, the doctor found something tragic and had to break some bad news to the parents. Most parents would have been shattered by the news, and maybe even tried to find a way to obtain it-but one couple was not about to give up their daughter without a struggle.

Chris and Sarah were apprehensive when they brought Sloan to the clinic. They were aware that their daughter’s tummy was not developing at a typical pace, but they prayed that the doctor would bring them good news.
But instead, their kid was diagnosed with biliary obstruction, a rare liver disorder that plugs and destroys the bile ducts. Bile builds up in the liver, which finally collapses due to stress if the condition is not treated promptly.
Sloan’s brief life faced a significant hurdle. Sarah stated
“We thought we were taking her in for a normal check-up, but unfortunately we got some really bad news.” “Everything we dreaded happened.”
Sloan was released from the hospital but had to return soon after. The family was admitted to the hospital’s critical care unit only one week after being diagnosed.

Only a liver transplant could save the baby’s life, and she didn’t have much time.
Sarah and Chris did not match the girl’s blood type, O, so they alerted everyone they knew about their situation in the hopes of finding a donor. Organ donation legislation is highly stringent. The donor must be a friend or family member who agrees to contribute for free.
The donor must also undergo a psychological screening and, of course, be physically healthy. Jake Tenny, who is close with the family, saw the family’s post on social media and put it on Facebook.
Then, unexpectedly, a hero appears. Because he was already accustomed to saving lives, the foreign guy was a wonderful match in more ways than one.

Steve Tenny, Jake’s brother, rushed to the baby’s aid. Steve has been a police officer for 18 years and is a veteran.
He is 40 years old and in excellent physical condition. He hasn’t had to go to the doctor in over a decade, and he’s never spent the night in the hospital-until now.
Following a battery of tests, physicians quickly removed a portion of Steve’s liver. Before returning the organ to Steve’s body, they removed around 20% of it. Steve hasn’t even met Sloan, whose life he’s going to rescue at this moment.
“Luckily, I was in terrific condition here.” My wife and I discussed it, and there was no doubt-if you can help save the life of a 4-month-old infant, you’re going to do it, “Steve said.”
Both procedures, thankfully, were successful. Steve’s liver will mend since it is one of the few organs in the human body that can repair itself.

Sloan’s liver will get stronger and stronger as she grows.
Despite the fact that a portion of her liver was removed, the small girl received considerably better treatment. Not everyone can say they always carry a piece of a hero with them!
This is one of the most touching tales we’ve heard in a long time. Sloan’s life may have ended in four months, but thanks to Steve’s selfless and heartfelt act, this tale had a happy ending!
