Newton-John and her second husband, John Easterling, met in the late 1990s, but it took a while for them to be married. In reality, the pair became romantically linked barely fifteen years after meeting.

Their original relationship was founded on the fact that both Newton-John and Easterling were interested in holistic health remedies and spirituality. Easterling even provided Newton-John with his own medical marijuana.

On May 26, 2012, John Easterling and Olivia Newton-John attended the 2012 Indy 500 Snakepit Ball at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Newton-John and Easterling had been friends for over two decades, and both claimed that they shared nothing more than friendship. They did, however, find themselves accessible and drawn to one another at some point.

Neither of them had anticipated being in a relationship with the other. Newton-John initially said that she did not believe in such things, but subsequently admitted:

«I never bought it. When I heard things like that, I’d think, ‘Oh, yeah, right.’ It then occurred to me. He is a very unique individual. «I know how fortunate I am.»

She said that on a wedding day, the married couple were frequently preoccupied with whether or not all of their suppliers were there and whether or not their guests were having a good time, rather than with one another.

She then told Easterling what she liked about her wedding days in Peru and Florida, saying:

«We simply wanted it to be about us, our union, and our love for one another.» «I’ve spent my life in the spotlight, and I wanted this one to be quiet.»

Twelve years after they married, Newton-John tweeted a snapshot of their Incan wedding ceremony. Newton-John is shown in a white dress seated on a wooden chair, while Easterling stands behind her in a poncho.

The picture was followed by a message in which Newton-John praised her hubby for the 12 years they had spent together now and observed that their wedding seemed so recent.

While the pair had their joyful days, they also had many terrible days as Newton-John battled illness for 30 years, most of which was during her marriage to Easterling.

Newton-Cancer John’s diagnosis prompted her to establish the Olivia Newton-John Foundation, which seeks to finance research into plant medicine as a cancer therapy. Easterling and Newton-John co-founded the charity.

The pair participated in several fundraising and awareness initiatives together, including the Great Walk in Beijing and a charity banquet hosted by Newton-John in Sydney, Australia. Easterling was always at his wife’s side during these critical occasions.

However, it wasn’t until later that he spoke out about his wife’s death on her Instagram page. He shared a photo of the two of them holding hands and hugging while smiling at the camera.

Along with the picture, Easterling released a lengthy statement in which he discussed Newton-John as a person once again. This time, though, he also mentioned the affection that the two of them had.

He posted this after talking about how they had a natural love that they never had to work on and how appreciative they were of it:

«She was the most brave lady I’d ever met.» Her capacity for true concern for people, the environment, and all things is nearly beyond what is humanly possible. »
