During the vow ceremony, the bride’s gaze was drawn away from the groom and onto two odd guests: the groom’s ex-girlfriend and their kid. Everyone was moved to tears by her remarks.
Katie Musser was not your typical bride when she got married in 2017. The lady switched her focus away from herself and her groom during the ceremony to welcome her new stepson to the stage.
Not only that, but the bride addressed a few words to her husband’s previous partner, Casey Bender. This emotional scene was recorded on tape and emphasized the woman’s impassioned statement.
The lady addressed Bender and Landon, who is four years old, in her speech. She begged the youngster’s friendship and vowed to be a better “bonus mother.” “We are family, always,” she said.
The groom’s response was unambiguous. He fell into tears as he saw his wife-to-be embracing his kids and ex-girlfriend into their new family. She not only expressed her joy at having a mixed family, but she also openly expressed her unconditional love for them.
The bride’s actions pleasantly surprised Bender. She said that just getting an invitation to the wedding was sufficient. She was, however, taken aback by the unusual encounter. Bender continued:
It was an exceptional and unselfish move for her to take even three minutes out of her life on a day when everything revolved around her and the groom. She didn’t have to do it. ”
The two ladies were not always friends; their history was complicated. Bender met her now-husband in college. Despite the fact that he was no longer dating Bender, he had recently become the father of her child.
Bender was unhappy since he had abandoned her at the time, and there were numerous rumors about their lives. However, the bride ultimately contacted Bender and attempted to resolve the problem.
They first discussed how they should handle circumstances better for Landon’s sake. They soon started to converse in a more cordial way, though. Bender elaborated.
We are linked on many levels other than Landon.
The two ladies discovered they had more in common than they thought, and they are now best friends. Bender has also remarried, and both spouses share custody of Landon. In Pennsylvania, people are figuring out their family circumstances while living just a few hours apart.
When Musser began working on her vows, she realized something was lacking. She owed Bender and Landon gratitude.
Her commitment was fulfilled after she had penned her pledges to them. According to her fiancé’s emotional response, it was the ideal way to cap off their wonderful day.
