Some lottery winners go to great measures to maintain their anonymity, but one jackpot winner recently took things to a terrifying new low. When picking up his grand prize last week, a Super Lotto winner in Jamaica wore a mask from the 1996 horror film “Scream.”
The winner, known only as A, appeared wearing the movie’s well-known white ghostly mask. According to Inside Edition, Campbell arrived at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston to pick up his big check. The winner also wore a long coat, leggings, and gloves in addition to the mask.
Without ever putting on a smile, Campbell accepted the $158,400,000 reward, which is almost $1.2 million in American money.

Numerous Caribbean islands have lottery operations administered by Supreme Ventures. According to Caribbean news outlet Loop, Campbell apparently took 54 days to collect the ticket, even though Supreme Ventures had been pleading with the winner to come forward before the 90-day window closed. Campbell claimed he became ill after believing he was the owner of the winning lottery ticket. I was pondering so much, [wondering] if what I’d been hoping for really came true. My head hurt me for three days.” “I experienced a stomach ache for two weeks, and occasionally the pain was so bad that I forgot I had won.”
Campbell paid $1.49 in US dollars, or $200 in Jamaican currency, for the ticket. Loop says that the winner in disguise said he was going to use the money to buy a house, but he didn’t say much else about himself.
