Maria Garcia and her husband, Miguel Restrepo, met on the streets of Colombia. Both were drug addicts who were ready to die.

Their lives had been devastated. They overcome their addiction, though, by assisting one another. They’ve been there for 22 years, seeking refuge through their most terrible time. Even though it is a sewer hole, this couple considers their home to be the most beautiful spot on the planet.

Because they lacked money and family members who could assist them, the two sought refuge in a sewer. Their love was more important to them than their flaws, which made them miserable all their lives.

They were able to overcome their drug addiction and restart their lives at the sewer opening. They have heat, light, power, a little kitchen, and even a TV.

They also have a pet named Blackie who serves as a buddy and house guardian, and they like decorating for the holidays.
