Most teens want to hang out with plenty of friends and have a good time. Taylor Smith, a 12-year-old girl from Tennessee, was no exception. Her days were spent with her family and friends, and she enjoyed watching Doctor Who.

Smith began preparations for her future self in April 2013. The letter was put in a box in her room with the command “to be opened by Taylor Smith on April 12, 2023 only (unless otherwise stated).”

This letter arrived as a surprise one day when her parents were going through her stuff. Taylor died as a result of complications from a rapid onset of pneumonia.

Her parents, Marry Ellen Smith and Tim, were devastated and heartbroken. They simply couldn’t accept the fact that their angel was no longer with them.

When they found the letter, it gave them chills all over, and they wanted to post it online.

Marry Ellen added in her article, “I can’t physically resuscitate her, I can’t bring her back, but I’m so thankful people have been touched by her story.”
