Cassandra Harris, an Australian actress of German and English descent, married the Bond actor. “[Cassie] made me the man I am, the actor I am, and the father I am,” he admitted once.

In the 1970s, they were introduced by a mutual friend. Although Brosnan was smitten by her beauty at first sight, it took more than a passing glance for her to become acquainted with the actor. Cassandra married actor William Firth and then British film producer Dermot Harris.

Everyone except Sean was present when she “began her journey,” according to the actor, on their 14th wedding anniversary. While Charlotte was on the phone, Christopher went to the hospital, and Brosnan was holding their mother when she died.

Sean handled the news calmly. When he learned of his mother’s death, tears welled up in his eyes, and he said, “It’s all for the better, Daddy. She is no longer in pain.”

They began dating soon after and realized they were perfect for each other. They talked frequently and found it difficult to be apart. In 1995, the newly cast Irish native as James Bond said:

“Wherever I went in the world, I missed her, and I’d send her tickets to come so we could be together. We just seemed to fit.”

In 2001, after two attempts to get married (the failure was due to Sean’s health crisis), the couple finally had their secret wedding at Ballytubber Abbey in Mayo.

The venue was soundproofed for privacy and accommodated approximately 100 guests. The couple later hosted a lavish reception at Ashford Castle.
