Brian Nguyen, a transgender man who had undergone gender reassignment surgery, made history by becoming the first transgender man to win a Miss America beauty competition.

«Hello, my name is Brian Nguyen, I am 19 years old, and I am now enrolled in the Business Administration degree at Nashua Community College.

Nguyen expressed her delight at becoming the first transgender woman to win the local Miss America title on her own blog.

«I am overjoyed to be the first transgender lady to win Miss America.»

Users of various social media platforms exhibited a range of emotions in response to Brian’s victory.

«And this is what it looks like when misogyny is put into effect,» claimed one participant. «Men want to devalue women, so women will no longer be the focus of the Miss America pageant,» said another.

The United States Court of Appeals reached the conclusion this week that the Miss United States organization cannot be compelled to admit transgender contestants because doing so would prevent the organization from promoting “an ideal picture of American womanhood.”
