Jennifer Lopez feared she was “going to die” after her breakup with Ben Affleck.
The Jenny from the Block singer, now 53, and the Hollywood actor, now 50, split up in 2004. They did, however, reconcile afterward.
She claims it was “extremely terrible” for the pair to cancel their wedding 20 years ago.
On Apple Music 1, she informed Zane Lowe about her new album “This Is Me… Now”: “It was the deepest heartache of my life when we called off the wedding.”
“I genuinely felt I was going to die,” the number one hit “Marry Me” singer claimed.
“That pushed me into a terrible spiral for the next 18 years, and I just couldn’t get it right,” she told Zane.
“Yet, 20 years later, it has a happy ending. It concludes in a way that “never happens in Hollywood.”
Jennifer and Ben didn’t speak to each other again until last year when JLO announced their engagement by flashing her massive diamond ring.
Ben and Jennifer married in Las Vegas just a few weeks after becoming engaged, despite having been away for 20 years.
The pair conducted a second wedding ceremony in August, which was a lavish reception for family and close friends.
That follows the announcement that Jennifer’s next album will include a song about Ben. On her first new album in eight years, she will sing about her Hollywood hubby once more.
She revealed the surprise album to her fans earlier this week when she returned to social media and published the tracklist.
When they saw that “Dear Ben pt. II” appeared on her new album, they hurried to the comments area to tell her.
The title is a play on the ballad “Dear Ben” from JLO’s 2002 album when she initially began dating the Oscar-winning actor.
“DEAR BEN, PART 2, I’M ON THE FLOOR!!” one fan exclaimed. YOU TOTALLY KNOW WHAT WE WANT.” “Dear Ben, part 2: OMGGG I’m going to cryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
“NOT DEAR BEN PART 2,” wrote a third. “Could you possibly send me a “Dear Ben” video?” As JLO was being hailed by ecstatic fans ahead of her big release, another fan inquired.
Here I am… Jennifer’s most recent studio album, A.K.A., was released in June 2014. Her first studio album in eight years will be released now.
The new album will document her emotional and mental development over the last two decades. It will be unlike any other record she has created.
