On his last flight, a student choir surprised the captain with a heartwarming impromptu serenade.
Ronald Smith has been a United Airlines pilot for 32 years and is currently flying his final flight from Chicago to Brussels before retiring.
When the LGE (Lycée des Garçons d’Esch-sur-Alzette) student choir learned of his retirement, they honored him in the greatest way they knew how.
Once other passengers got off the plane, the choir lingered behind and waited for Ronald to come out of the pit, they then stood in a semi-circle and sang ‘Viva La Vida’ from Coldplay.
The kids transformed the song with a cappella serenade, and the captain must have savored the occasion as the crew gathered around him.
This must have been a truly heartwarming moment for Captain Ronald and we wish him all the best in his next endeavor.
