Parent on a mission to show her beautiful daughter who has a rare birthmark on her face.

One mother is on a social media quest to teach people to accept and love persons with birthmarks.

Nicole Lucas Hall has a 13-month-old daughter named Winry who has a birthmark that covers half of her face and makes her stand out from other toddlers.

She tells Good Morning America viewers about Winry, who was born with a rare birthmark known as congenital melanocytic nevi, or CMN.

“When they initially brought her to me, I assumed it was a bruise,” Hall says of the moment medics handed her baby over to her at the hospital. “It was then instantly clear to my husband and me that it was not a bruise. And, as the name suggests, I thought it resembled a mole.”

Instead of being sad about it, Hall is raising awareness about CMN and talking with other parents about its wonderful aspects of it. “This is the first time for a lot of people to see a birthmark like hers, and that’s part of why I enjoy sharing,” Hall said.

“This is a terrific dialogue for parents to have with their children to see kids have differences, or for those parents who do have a kid that looks like Winry or has any kind of birthmark to have their child represented,” Hall adds.

It also causes concern because Winry’s condition puts her at danger of getting melanoma, according to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Yet it is not cancer that Hall is concerned about; it is the bullying that Winry may face as she grows older.

Hall is taking every effort to safeguard Winry, including wearing masks and hats to shield her skin from the sun. “Her health and happiness are our primary priorities,” she continues. We’ll have to keep an eye on her with sunscreen. “I’m careful with headgear and such,” Hall explained. “I’m sure our regular dermatological appointment will be our closest friend as we grow older.”

We’ve never seen a birthmark like that before, but we know Winry is a cute baby. Mom and dad are doing everything they can to safeguard and keep their baby happy.

However, baby Winry is unconcerned about anything and is simply a blessing to her parents, according to Hall. She’s either laughing or shrieking all the time. “She’s the happiest baby I’ve ever seen,” Hall exclaimed.

“She’s a big talker already,” Hall continues, implying that her parents already have a lot on their plates. We haven’t said anything yet, but she tells it like it is and she’s already gaining a little sassiness, so I think we’re going to have a lot on our hands.”

Winry has a large global following due to her fame on TikTok, which has allowed her mother to virtually meet individuals from all over the world who have a similar disease as her.

One particular user from Brazil has been interesting to talk to because they have a similar experience to Winry. “We’ve had to talk to several people from Brazil who have birthmarks,” Hall explains. “One of them has one that is absolutely identical to Winry and it’s been really nice to chat to her because she’s practically precisely my age.

Let us keep Hall and Winry in our prayers so that the Lord will protect them from all negativity and that this child will grow up in the fear of the Lord and have confidence in His word and believe what He says she is.
