Ed and Florin Hale, who are married, are undeniable proof of such feelings. They shared their lives together for 60 unforgettable years, and nothing could separate them.

Florin and Ed met in 1952 and fell in love while dancing their first waltz. A deep feeling pierced their true hearts at first look. Ed realized right away that it was either this or nobody else.

Florin was in seventh heaven when her beloved proposed to her. After saying “yes” to each other, the young people were looking forward to a long and happy life.

The newlyweds took their vows seriously, agreeing to care for each other “in sickness and in health.” Even the adage “till death do us part” grew to mean something concrete in their lives. Ed was 83 years old when his kidney failed and he was admitted to the hospital.

Florin had a heart attack a few days later. The old widow, however, was escorted to the hospital where her husband was.

Ed persisted on visiting Florin Hospital and being placed in the same room. Physicians and family members were unable to oppose. The old couple eventually reconciled. to allow them to grasp hands.

Florin had little ability to feel or grasp anything, yet she was immediately aware of her loyal husband’s presence. She died not long after that. She didn’t let go of her husband’s hand for a single second. Ed took his final breath and closed his eyes for the last time two hours later.

“I’ll never abandon you, Florin.” At the time, I promised you that nothing or no one in the world could force me to leave you. I’ll accompany you if you go! Ed made his final statement. He had no idea how accurate he was.

We all need love more than anything in the world, but in order to receive it, one must first learn how to give love to others without expecting anything in return.
