Parents with three children do not want to work because it is not in their “psyche”… What is their way of life?

Most people would agree that having children motivates them to work harder, but a British couple’s unconventional parenting style has gained international notice.

With their three children, Matt and Adele Allen practice what they call “off-grid parenting.” The Allens give their children complete control over what they eat and when they go to bed. Furthermore, the children are not permitted to obtain normal medical care and do not attend school.

In 2016, the couple achieved attention after their one-year-old daughter, Ostara, urinated in a newsroom as the family was being interviewed for This Morning.

Stacey Dooley, a documentarian, recently focused on the Allens for her W Channel show Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over. Dooley is enthralled by the Allens’ way of life, but she is especially smitten by Matt. Despite having three children, Matt makes his living as a part-time yoga instructor. Matt claims in an interview with Dooley that he has no desire to ever work a full-time job because such a position is not a part of his personality.

Dooley’s film also mentions that the family receives government assistance for the children and lives in social housing in Brighton. Adele, who characterizes herself as a full-time mother, is also unemployed.

Matt defends his way of life by claiming that spending time with his family is more important than obtaining work. Matt says that his family is not a burden on the nation because they live a basic life and do not rely on the social system. Matt claims that his family receives the least amount of public assistance.

Matt and Adele’s current lifestyle is substantially different from their previous one. Matt and Adele had a jet set lifestyle of partying and fancy travel prior to having children. They were both recent college graduates. The two gradually chose to abandon materialistic principles in favor of a more simple way of living.

The Allens plan to relocate to Costa Rica, where they feel they will be able to live independently. The family is looking for donations totaling £100,000 to help them on their journey.
