Harley Lane is a brave boy who, after a serious illness, lost his hands and legs but still went to school and lives a normal life.

The Lanes live in the British town of Stockport. Harley contracted meningitis when he was only three years old. His parents were distraught, and his heart stopped three times in the span of four minutes.

Harley, on the other hand, has a tenacious spirit and has always fought for his life, even when all hope seemed lost. He survived thanks to God and the physicians at Manchester Children’s Hospital, but his limbs had to be amputated due to complications from the sickness (sepsis).

Harley recognized his physique had changed once he recovered, but he saw his parents crying tears of pleasure, delighted that he was alive and would continue to live.

Harley had to adjust to his new existence after being released from the hospital, learning to move without his legs and using his new hands. Although his rehabilitation took several years, he remained inquiring, open, and trusting of people.

Harley’s parents were highly anxious as he approached school age and had frequent conversations concerning his education. They eventually determined that he should attend a regular school.

Despite initial worries about how his peers would react, Harley became a star in his class, loved by everyone, and many wanted to be his friend. His popularity boosted his confidence, and he eagerly looked forward to going to school.

Harley, who is now nearly fourteen years old, attends school and acts normally. He was even awarded the “Pride of Britain” medal for his bravery and persistence in the face of illness, establishing him as a great hero in his field.

Harley enjoys school, performs well academically, has many friends, and lives a happy life. He even had the distinction of delivering the rings at his parents’ wedding, despite the fact that they had never married before.
