Everything happened in a matter of seconds. While driving with some friends, Steve Knoop, who posted the video to his YouTube account in 2014, came across an unusual scene. A newborn fawn was lying in the middle of the street.

That wasn’t the only disturbing part. The fawn’s limbs were awkwardly folded under its chest as if it was “hiding” itself. Steve and his friends slammed on the brakes immediately before something terrible happened.

According to the video’s description, Paul got out of the car and cautiously approached the fawn. His companions recorded what he did next to emerge as a true hero. When Paul realized the fawn was still alive, he acted quickly. The baby’s mother was waiting nearby in the bushes.

Paul inspected the deer carefully and deliberately to ensure it did not flee. After gaining the fawn’s trust, Paul grabbed it. He knew the deer would be in big trouble if it stayed in that posture on the road. He brought the fawn into the woods, wrapping it in a blanket and holding its limbs beneath its torso.

Paul was really daring in what he did.
