Briana Naylor (35 years old) and her husband Michael (30 years old) from Queen Creek were enjoying a meal in their kitchen when they noticed an unusual silence enveloping their home. The couple’s youngsters, three-year-old Colt and two-year-old Kimber, typically active in the nursery, had fallen unexpectedly silent for a surprisingly prolonged period.

When the mother finally decided to check on the children, she discovered them seated in her closet. Initially, all she saw were four small legs, but as she pushed aside her clothes, a startling sight unfolded before her. Baby Kimber was encircled by her own locks of hair, with Colt holding a pair of scissors in his hand, systematically trimming his sister’s curls strand by strand. Briana recounted that both children were astonishingly composed and engrossed in this unexpected activity, treating it as a new and engaging game.

My son had the scissors poised near Kimber’s head, and remarkably, she remained incredibly tranquil and patient as he trimmed her hair. She didn’t display any signs of agitation and permitted him to proceed.

Unlike many parents who might have been upset in Briana’s situation, she didn’t scold the children. Instead, she found amusement in the situation. “When I saw them, it was quite a shock, but then it became rather amusing. I burst into laughter. My husband came in, obviously perturbed, but soon enough, he joined in the laughter too.”

The parents chose to address the situation calmly. They took the opportunity to explain that playing with scissors was not appropriate, and it was evident that Colt felt ashamed. They requested him to clean up the cut hair by vacuuming. The hope was that he had grasped a valuable lesson and wouldn’t repeat such an action.

Subsequently, it came to light that the clothing in Briana’s closet had also fallen victim to Colt’s impromptu haircutting. One dress was even beyond salvaging and had to be discarded. However, the most pressing concern for the mother and father was their daughter’s hair. While Colt had begun cutting his sister’s hair near her temple, it seemed he had done so rather casually. Providentially, a twist of fate appeared to intervene in the family’s favor.

The Naylors’ neighbor, Jen Bullock, had coincidentally been discussing hairstyling with Briana the day before the incident, revealing that she worked as a hairdresser. In her moment of concern, Briana turned to Jen for assistance.

“I texted her, ‘Forget about my haircut, I urgently need you to help Kimber,'” Briana shared.

Jen swiftly came to the rescue. She opted to embrace Colt’s unconventional haircut and elevate it by shaving a section of Kimber’s temple and even adding a design to it. Jen herself stated that she essentially aimed to “embrace” the audacious haircut Colt had attempted.

Upon observing Kimber, Jen understood that the best approach was to accentuate the existing lines, making them more distinct, and incorporating a few additional elements. Notably, no one reprimanded young Colt for his actions. In fact, his mother believes that her son might have a future as a hairstylist, considering his inclination. Briana even muses that he might end up cutting many more people’s hair in the future.

Perhaps Colt is destined for the hairstyling profession. Jen reveals that whenever she uses her clippers and scissors to trim her husband’s hair, Colt consistently pleads with her for an opportunity to give it a try.
