Lara and Mara Bavar are 11-year-old twins. They were born into a regular family in So Paulo, both devoid of melanin pigment. Their complexion and hair are white, yet their features are very identical to those of their black sister Sheila. As a result, the sisters appear to be negative clones of each other.

If the birth of an albino child is likely in 1 in 17,000 cases, the birth of albino twins is even more difficult to determine. It’s no surprise that Nike, Insanis, and Bazaar Kids were all interested in these girls at the same time. Photographer Vinicius Terranova invited the girls, along with his 13-year-old sister Sheila, for a professional photo shoot, and when the resulting images were released for the first time on Instagram, they earned thousands of likes almost immediately.

“Their beauty is not so much unusual as it is rare; we are not used to seeing it every day, but it should be highlighted and noticed.” This is a statement on how diverse beauty may be, and how grand and perfect it can be. Eleven-year-old girls are quite hopeful about their future. They now aspire to be actresses and models.

“I enjoy learning new things.” I enjoy designing gowns and posing and playing in front of an audience. “I’m going to be a stylist when I grow up,” adds the twins’ older sister. that both sisters see their physical appearance as a fantastic gift that distinguishes them. “We like to live with such an appearance,” Mara confirms. “We like to stand out, and we are grateful for our unique beauty.”

Although the girls were born in Brazil, their parents are from Guinea-Bissau. Growing up in Brazil has been a very positive experience for them – they are loved by their family, admired, complimented.
