An atheist on a plane declares that there is no God, but a cowboy’s response quickly shuts him down.

In this humorous short story, an atheist and a cowboy end up sitting next to each other on a plane. And when the atheist tries to deny God’s existence, the cowboy knows exactly how to silence him!

When flying alone, some passengers prefer to keep to themselves. Others would prefer to talk to the stranger sitting next to them. But what happens when those two passengers have completely opposite worldviews?

This exact scenario is shown in a hilarious social media story involving an atheist and a cowboy who clearly believes in God. Despite the fact that the story is made up, the punchline is true!

The story being shared on Facebook goes as follows: “An atheist was seated next to a dusty old cowboy on an airplane and he turned to him and said, ‘Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.’

The old cowboy, who had just started to read his book, replied to the total stranger, ‘What would you want to talk about?’ ‘Oh, I don’t know,’ said the atheist. ‘How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?’ as he smiled smugly.

‘All right,’ he said. ‘Those could be interesting topics, but first allow me to ask you a question. A horse, a cow, and a deer all consume the same food: grass. However, a deer excretes little pellets, a cow makes a flat patty, and a horse excretes clumps. Why do you think that is?’

The atheist, apparently taken aback by the old cowboy’s intelligence, ponders it and concludes, ‘Hmmm, I have no notion.’ ‘Do you really feel qualified to talk God, Heaven and Hell, or life beyond death, when you don’t know crap?’ says the cowboy. We hope this amusing anecdote made your day. Share the atheist and cowboy joke with someone who could use a good laugh!
