Christina Applegate is well known for her many film and television roles. She is best renowned, though, for battling cancer, which she was diagnosed with in 2008, at the height of her career.
Christina was able to overcome the sickness after a long battle. She did not, however, do it alone. Her friends and family were there for her throughout her battle. She discovered her rock in one specific individual.
When the actress received her breast cancer diagnosis in 2008, she and her friend of 13 years, Martyn LeNoble, had only recently started dating. Christina was horrified and astonished by the news because she had seen her mother struggle with the same illness.
Christina admitted that it was difficult, but she made every effort to embrace the changes in her life and the reality that her physical attributes had changed. She stated she put on a cheerful front for everyone else, but Martyn came in handy. She went on to say: “He gave me something to smile about and something I genuinely wanted in life.”
Christina constantly expressed her appreciation for Martyn’s help during her illness. She eventually beat cancer with Martyn’s help in August 2008, the same month she was diagnosed.
Christina and Martyn dated for two years after her cancer diagnosis before getting engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2010. Martyn and Christina were both preparing for their second wedding.
In February 2013, three years after they first started dating, Christina and Martyn wed. Their daughter, who was two at the time of the wedding, had been born by then. Only close family and friends were present at the wedding at their Los Angeles home.
The rings that the couple exchanged were created by Neil Lane, while Christina’s gown was a Maria Lucia Hohan masterpiece. Sadie Grace, their joint daughter, was joined in the family by a kid from Martyn’s previous union.
Martyn’s child from a previous marriage is Marlon. Christina was childless before to conceiving Sadie Grace with Martyn, yet she is a devoted stepmother to Sadie Grace and Marlon.
Christina disclosed on Twitter in August 2021 that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a disorder that affects the outer sheath of the nerves. She expressed her gratitude to individuals who were going through similar difficulties.
In October 2022, more than a year after receiving her MS diagnosis, Christina tweeted once more to share that she was making her first public appearance. Then she displayed various walking aids she would use to get around.
She was able to walk at first with a cane, but as time went on or the weather got colder, she found it harder to get around without her body giving out. Since then, she has started using a wheelchair.
