The proverb “Children should be seen and not heard” became a little less true after a recent episode of The Voice France. The new adage should be, “Children should sing a little more.”
Fans felt that way after seeing Gloria, a six-year-old, perform “La Vie en Rose.” The song’s English title, “Life of Pink,” became well-known thanks to legendary French vocalist Edith Piaf.
Gloria didn’t have the experience of a Piaf in her peak, but she still performed admirably. Gloria appeared to be really anxious at first, but she soon got used to performing in front of the three judges and the large studio audience. All individuals who were listening were immediately mesmerized by her interpretation of the song.
While Gloria sang, the judges chanted in silence. One judge was so moved by the song that she even delved deep inside herself to express it. When the song was over, the studio audience gave Young Gloria a standing ovation.
We can only guess at the reaction of the audience who saw the performance on television. Gloria did an outstanding job! Gloria might make another appearance for viewers of The Voice France. If she proves to be a major success, the producers would surely bring her back.
After this, will Gloria have a prosperous career? It might very well be. If she can hold listeners’ attention, she might someday be as well-known as Piaf.
