A WAITRESS who was given a $4,400 tip by a stranger was fired after her manager forced her to share it with her coworkers. On Friday, RB was one of two servers awaiting a party of more than 40 individuals at OT in Bentonville, Arkansas!
When it came time to pay the bill, each diner paid the two waiters a $100 tip, totaling $4,400. “It was a great thing to do, and seeing her reaction was awesome, to see what it meant to her, the impact it’s already had on her life,” GW, who was one of the diners, said. GW, the owner of a real estate firm, stated that he called ahead to inquire about the tipping policy to ensure that everything went smoothly.

However, he informed Nexstar’s KNWA that things did not proceed as planned. “I was promised that I would hand over my money to my shift manager and receive a 20% pay raise,” BRr explained. As he handed the money to RB and another waitress, they were both in tears.
But soon after, RB said restaurant managers told her she’d have to split the tip with all of her co-workers – something she claims hasn’t happened in the three-and-a-half years she has worked there.

“I was told that I was going to give my cash over to my shift manager and I would be taking home 20%,” the University of Arkansas graduate, who is in her early 30s, told Fox 59. Brandt claimed that following that, she was dismissed, leaving her with no way to pay her bills.
“It was devastating because I had borrowed a significant amount of money for student loans.” Most of them were turned off due to the epidemic, but they will be switched back on in January, which is a sad reality,” stated RB.RB said she was fired because she broke restaurant regulations by notifying GW about tip pooling.

KNWA asked OT if that was true. They declined an interview but did provide KNWA with a statement: “After dining, this large group of guests requested that their gratuity be given to two particular servers. We fully honored their request. Out of respect for our highly valued team members, we do not discuss the details surrounding the termination of an employee.”
Now, GW has started an online fundraising campaign to help RB out.
