Few things are as priceless as a baby’s first spontaneous smile, and this thought proved true for a young girl with Down syndrome whose mother captured her first smile on tape.
The infant, who was 8 months old, was cuddling up to her adoptive mother while doing some tummy time on a cozy blanket. In this emotional moment, her mother jokingly enquired, “How’s your day going?”
The young child’s huge, dazzling grin in response to this straightforward query won the hearts of viewers all across the world. Even her mother, who was caught up in the excitement emanating from her daughter, burst into laughing at the absolute delight on her face.
Hearing the mother giggle with genuine joy as her daughter surprised her with a string of endearing grins that are lovely enough to make anyone’s day is absolutely uplifting.
Having recently joined the family through the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network, this adorable baby’s newly discovered capacity for joy may have been a reaction to her mother’s happiness.
The mother treasured this special time even if the ability to smile will only last a few weeks. She is nonetheless thankful that she was able to photograph her child’s very first smiles so that she will always have them in her possession.
