He fondly remembers this as the start of their love story, even though they drifted apart for a while after this meeting. However, with the assistance of mutual friends and a twist of fate, Marjorie and Steve crossed paths again in 2005 and have been inseparable ever since. After a year of dating, Steve finally asked the question, and the couple got married on June 25, 2007.

Prior to beginning his romantic journey with Marjorie, Steve had been married two times. Following the end of his marriage to Marcia Harvey in his late 20s, he embarked on a journey to pursue his passion for comedy, which led him to face a period of homelessness lasting three years. During that phase of his life, it was undoubtedly a difficult and heartbreaking time for the star. He had to navigate the demanding Hollywood comedy industry all on his own, starting from scratch.

In 1993, Steve’s fortunes took a turn for the better when he secured a prestigious opportunity to showcase his talents at the renowned Apollo Theatre on Showtime. Nevertheless, his personal life remained tumultuous even after marrying Mary Shackelford for the second time and coming to the realization that it was a regrettable decision.

Steve openly acknowledged that he had entered into another marriage for all the wrong motives. Instead of placing blame on his then-wife, he attributed his poor decision to a fear of being alone. Steve found love again after going through his second divorce. He believes that his bodyguard played a significant role in bringing him and Marjorie together.

“He told me, ‘Look, the only time I’ve ever seen you happy was when you were with that woman Marjorie. Now, before making any rash decisions and committing to someone else, I strongly advise you to reconsider. I will contact her on your behalf.”
