On a scorching summer day in rural Indiana, young Elysia Laub stumbled upon something truly astonishing. Thanks to the presence of a special guardian angel, an abandoned newborn was given the heartwarming nickname «Miracle Jane Doe!»

Elysia was happily playing in the spacious backyard of her family’s rural home as the sun reached its peak in the sky.

As she walked further back to a more private area of the grass, she saw something pink moving around in the trees.

She said, «I just saw pink legs kicking away. I knew it was alive and that we had something. I could not second guess myself. I immediately knew we needed help.»

Upon hearing the cries, Elysia initially believed she had come across a baby pig or perhaps a doll. However, the sight that greeted her upon closer inspection was truly astonishing. On the ground, a helpless newborn baby girl lay, completely exposed and crying out for help!

Elysia quickly informed her mother, Heidi, who was just as shocked as her daughter by what she had discovered. With a gentle touch, she cradled the helpless child in her arms and carefully swaddled her in a cozy baby blanket. Without hesitation, she reached for her phone and dialed 911, ensuring that help would soon be on the way.

According to the police, the baby, who is now being referred to as «Miracle Jane Doe,» was found in the field after having been there for several hours. But it could have even been as long as an entire day!

Given the rural surroundings, it would have been quite simple for the young child to remain unnoticed for an even longer period of time, if not for some sort of divine intervention.

The helpless newborn was left to endure painful sunburn and was plagued by swarms of insects. It appears that the umbilical cord was left attached, indicating that she may have been abandoned by her mother shortly after birth.

It’s truly devastating to consider how someone could abandon a child to endure such a difficult situation. Surprisingly, aside from discovering her in a rather pitiful condition, the baby girl was unharmed, all thanks to her small guardian angel.

«It’s truly remarkable that the 9-year-old was there to discover her,» commented Sheriff John Buncich.

Of course, that wouldn’t have been the case on a day that ended up being 90 degrees if Elysia hadn’t been there. And this amazing hero knows precisely who deserves the credit!

“If I wasn’t there and God didn’t tell my brain, if my brain didn’t make me go over there, we would find a dead baby in the yard this afternoon,” Elysia said. «It would be significantly worse and have a completely different outcome.»

And this adorable girl’s mom wholeheartedly agreed. «It’s truly incredible that we were able find her. This baby’s life was really saved by God through my daughter. She is fine.” Heidi says.

And Heidi acknowledged that it’s not just the baby girl that needs our prayers.

«If we had gone out there even an hour or two later, considering the scorching 90-degree weather, she wouldn’t have survived,» she said. «It’s truly remarkable that she managed to survive. My thoughts go out to the birth mother, hoping that she receives the necessary support as she is clearly going through a difficult time as well.»

What a blessing it is that Elysia was sent to the rescue!
