Kate Middleton has received a cancer diagnosis.

The somber news was shared by the Princess of Wales in a video message on Friday.
In her account, Middleton revealed that during her abdominal surgery, the initial belief was that her condition was non-cancerous. However, subsequent tests conducted after the operation unveiled the presence of cancer.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family,” Kate, 42, said in the video. It’s been quite a journey, as you can imagine. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.”

Although Middleton did not reveal the specific type of cancer, she did mention that she began «preventative chemotherapy» in February.
