There have been countless eerie images that have circulated on the internet over the years. If you’re in the mood for some intriguing stories, you’ll find plenty of them out there. From alleged encounters with Big Foot to sightings of unidentified flying objects, and even ghostly apparitions in abandoned houses, the internet is filled with captivating images and stories.
Now, we’ll admit right off the bat that the vast majority of said images aren’t nearly so unexplainable as they’re supposed to be.
Often, the presence of a paranormal element or eerie detail can be dismissed as a mere coincidence captured by the camera, or as the result of someone skilled in Photoshop with an abundance of free time.
However, there are indeed photos that, in one way or another, seem to defy logic. Runner Kay Borleis had a rather eerie discovery in a photograph captured during her 100-mile run through the lush Hawaiian rainforest. I can’t quite understand why someone would willingly subject themselves to such a physically demanding challenge, but that’s not the main focus here.
In 2019, Kay took on the challenge of participating in the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run. This grueling race involves completing five laps of a 20-mile loop through a dense rainforest.
Kay was accompanied by her friend Cassie, who was acting as a pacer. It was Cassie who captured photos during their run.
One of the images captured Kay navigating a muddy trail deep within the jungle. However, upon further examination of the image, she noticed a disturbing detail.
Kay shared on Reddit, saying: «This photo was taken by my pacer.»
Take a moment to observe the figure positioned in the frame to the left of my head. We never saw anyone passing us and there were no statues along the trail.
Rest assured, this is not a photoshopped or generated image. This is legit.”
Upon closer examination, the photo reveals the presence of a mysterious figure, clad in tattered clothing, seemingly observing Kay as she sprints. Despite the situation, Kay adamantly maintained that no one was there at the time.
She shared an intriguing story: «Legend has it that the island is haunted by the spirits of Hawaiian warriors known as Night Marchers.»
They are described as murderous shades, demons, and revenants that haunt the island. These fierce ghosts embody the spirit of the legendary warriors of ancient Hawaii.
After conducting additional research, we discovered that according to ancient Hawaiian beliefs, anyone who dares to look at or be seen by the marchers will meet a gruesome and violent death. According to some individuals, if a person remains motionless, lying on the ground and showing respect, fear, and reverence to the Night Marchers, they may be forgiven and spared.
Fortunately, we didn’t catch a glimpse of the alleged Night Marcher.
