Welcome, everyone! Today I want to share with you a fantastic homemade lemonade recipe.
Lemonade is that perfect summer drink – it’s refreshing and really hits the spot on hot days. But let’s be honest, store-bought lemonade can sometimes leave us questioning what’s actually in it. That’s why I love making my own lemonade at home. It’s not only tastier but also much safer, especially when you’re serving it to kids. So, let me show you how to make your own delicious lemonade from scratch!
Making this popular lemony drink won’t take up much of your time – you’ll only need about 15 minutes in total. With just 4 simple ingredients, you’ll have 2 liters of the most delicious, refreshing beverage. If you like, you can add your favorite berries to the lemonade – strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries make excellent additions.
I recommend using plain carbonated water and chilling it beforehand. You can adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, but it’s best to start with the quantity listed in the recipe. You can always add more sugar later, after dissolving it in a bit of warm water.
Here’s how to make homemade lemonade:
Ingredients:
— 3 lemons
— 6 cups (1.5 liters) of plain carbonated water
— 1/3 cup (80 grams) of sugar
— 1 bunch of mint
Instructions:
1. Get the carbonated water chilling and have some ice ready if you like it cold.
2. Wash those lemons really well under the tap – using a fruit and veggie wash can help get them super clean.
3. Dry off that mint on a paper towel after washing it. Then, strip those leaves off the stems.
4. Heat up a cup of water in a saucepan, add the sugar, and stir it until it dissolves completely. This only takes a few minutes. Once the sugar’s all dissolved, take it off the heat and let it cool down.
5. While that’s cooling, get those lemons ready: cut them in half (keep one half for later), and squeeze out all the juice.
6. Grab a big glass pitcher or bottle and pour in the lemon juice, sugar syrup, carbonated water, slices from the leftover lemon half, and the mint leaves. Mix it all up really well.
7. If you like your lemonade icy cold, toss in some ice cubes.
8. Let your homemade lemonade sit for about 10 minutes to let all those flavors mingle, then pour it into glasses.
Enjoy your tasty, refreshing drink!
