Granddaughter Teams Up with Ukulele-Playing Grandpa for a Heartwarming “Over The Rainbow” Duet

In 2016, Frank Nardone picked up the ukulele, and by 2018, he had built a small repertoire of tunes. One of those songs happens to be the iconic “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” famously performed by Judy Garland.

While many musicians and singers have put their own spin on this timeless song, none have done so quite as endearing as Frank and his granddaughter, Brooke Falls. During a visit to Frank and his wife Marie’s retirement home in central Florida, Brooke joined her grandfather for a heartwarming duet.

Brooke’s mother, Donna Dugan, who lives near Philadelphia, explains that they only get to visit Frank and Marie a couple of times a year, making each trip all the more special. This particular moment became so beloved that it was even featured in a local newspaper.

Brooke, now 18, starts the video holding a sign that flips over to reveal her 81-year-old grandfather, Frank. The opening notes of the song fill the air, and Brooke’s voice quickly follows, impressively clear and controlled, as though she’s been singing professionally for years—because, in fact, she has.

At just 18, Brooke has been performing professionally for six years, already accumulating a wealth of experience with dozens of performances in New Jersey and New York.

The video, which surfaced a few days ago, has resonated deeply with viewers, who’ve praised Brooke’s vocal talent and Frank’s ukulele playing. However, what truly stands out is the meaningful connection between the two as they create unforgettable memories through their music.

Watch this touching duet below and share it to spread the love!
