During the year-end recital at René’s Art of Dance, siblings of students were invited to join in on a lively number set to Bernice West’s Afrikaans hit, Lyfie. But no one—not even the instructors—expected a viral star to emerge from the crowd. Enter Dirkco Jansen van Nieuwenhuizen, better known as Klein Kwagga, who didn’t just participate… he owned that stage.

From the second the beat dropped, this 7-year-old was on fire—moving with the confidence of a seasoned pro, completely unfazed by the crowd, the cameras, or even the other kids shuffling around him. With every expertly timed move, he exuded pure passion, as if he were born for that moment.

The song’s lyrics, translated into English, speak about embracing beauty and dancing for joy. And while the words may be in Afrikaans, you don’t need to understand a single syllable to feel the magic radiating from this little powerhouse.
