Maya Bennett, 24, from Brooklyn, had a nose that was the center of every joke—“Toucan Sam,” “the Pelican,” and even “Nose-zilla.” The long, hooked shape overshadowed her naturally pretty features.

“It became my personality. I’d joke about it before anyone else could,” Maya says. “But I hated it. Truly.”

Maya finally decided to fly to Los Angeles to meet Dr. Ayres, a rhinoplasty wizard known for taking on extreme cases.

The procedure took under three hours. The results? Surreal.

Her new nose is petite, upturned just enough to give a youthful charm, and so well done it looks like she was born with it. Friends gasped. Strangers asked if she was a model.
