The clear winner of a race for toddlers on bicycles “shifted gears” just centimeters before the finish line, making for a delightfully unexpected finish.

Senn Swieters, age 2, may be seen in this endearing video clip from the Rapid Wheels Dutch Championship held in the Netherlands, pedaling “miles” ahead of the other competitors.

It would not have been difficult for him to complete the race in first position, but ten centimeters before the finish line, he makes the decision that coming in third place is just as satisfying.
